Since it’s beginning in 2005, Kentucky has hosted Rece and the boys 3 times while appearing in 7 of the main events. The Cats have played pretty well at home going 2-1, but haven’t been so hot on road, recording a 1-3 punch on the win/loss column. Kentucky was not a part of the 2009 season or as I like to call it “The Jodie Meeks Year”. Missouri will bring a solid group of Tigers into Lexington for what should be an exciting affair. Kentucky is preseason either 1, 2, or 3 on almost everyone’s polls while the Tigers hover in and out of the top 25. The loss of seniors like Ricardo Ratilff, Kim English, Matt Pressey, and Marcus Denmon would kill any schools chances (outside of Kentucky) of trying to be anywhere near competitive the following season. The addition of Alex Oriakhi and return of Phil Pressey help Mizzou keep the winning ways of the last several years. Kentucky, well, we know what we have. Another inexperienced group of hard workers who have natural abilities that carry them further than anyone else. It will be programs’ first meeting since 1999 in New Orleans. In which, Kentucky won 70-53. February 23, 2013 couldn’t come soon enough. Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. EST with pregame at 8 p.m. EST. Don’t forget the mourning show at 10 p.m. EST, see ‘ya then!
