North Carolina sent a report to the NCAA saying they did not do anything wrong in the Tami Hansbrough scandal. In the report, UNC shed some details about the situation that I feel may ultimately lead to some sanctions by the NCAA. Carolina is sticking to it’s guns and reporting that they haven’t committed any violations.
The biggest piece of the report is the fact that UNC financed trips to the 2009 ACC tournament and 2009 NCAA tournament in which her son Tyler Hansbrough played. North Carolina is defending this activity by saying it was official business for her fund raising job. I think that it would be very naive of someone to believe that the fund raising event and games being on the same days are just a coincidence .
