Yesterday, news broke that Julius Randle was impressed with John Calipari’s fresh championship ring.  Today, Roy Williams decided to try to top Cal by showing up with a briefcase full of Final Four and Championship rings of his own.  There was 31 rings in total, which also included Michael Jordan’s 1992 World Championship ring.  When asked if Roy 1-uped Cal, Randle replied “more like 31-Up”.

There is a couple things odd about this.  First, I’m pretty sure Roy didn’t have anything to do with MJ’s NBA Championship run.  Second, where did all those other rings come from?  Did good ole Roy go around the room asking for some bling bling to show off?  Also, does he really think that all that jewelry would persuade Randle to come to UNC?  Unless Williams was planning on giving those to him, I’m not sure how effective it was.  Besides, if Randle wanted some diamonds he would go to Duke.  That’s where they give players thousands of dollars worth , no questions asked.
