Andrew Wiggins , maybe the best high school player since LeBron James, has long been considered a Kentucky lock. The question on the minds of Kentucky fans was if he would reclassify to the 2013 class, or stay in 2014. Today, the sense that Wiggins is one hundred percent a UK lean may be fading just a little. Evan Daniels broke the news that Wiggins wishes to hear from other schools. In particular, he wants to hear from Kansas, North Carolina, and Ohio St. While this isn’t terrible news for UK, it does make you believe that Wiggins to Kentucky is not as certain as it once was. Personally, I still believe he will wind up a Wildcat, however you never really know.
The above news led to Adam Zagoria speaking with Wiggins’ high school coach. Adam asked the coach to elaborate on Wiggins’ comments to Daniels. Below is his reply.
“Obviously, with James Young right now as a kid that’s already committed to Kentucky in that ’13 class, maybe some of these schools feel a little bit more confident now,” Wiggins’ coach told sNY.tv. “I think the other schools kind of feel they have a shot now, I guess.”
“Andrew’s an extremely unselfish player so I don’t know that that would have a determining factor on his school choice, as to what guys are there or what guys aren’t there,” his coach said.
