Off the heels of reports that UK spent more money on the light show at Big Blue Madness than a year’s worth of football recruiting, Larry Vaught spoke with Joker Phillips to find out if this was true. Joker feels that money for recruiting is not the problem. He says that he has never been turned down money for recruiting when asked. For instance, he say that UK spent over $500,000 last year. That is $200,000 more than the reported cost of the Big Blue Madness light show.

“We really have an unlimited budget in recruiting. We spent over $500,000 on airlines and official visits last year. That’s a lot of money. That is plenty for us,” Phillips said.
