“I want to thank the “real” fans for coming out. Everyone else has a “personal agenda.” “
Mitch Barnhart told this to Tom Leach yesterday after seeing what a low number of fans turned out to the Vanderbilt game. The first part of the quote comes across a little harsh but Mitch was trying to just make a point that fans should support their team. The second part , however, is were things get a little “iffy”
What does Mitch Barnhart mean by “personal agenda” against Joker? I have heard from many fans and readers that they believe Barnhart meant to throw an under handed racism criticism to the UK fans. I’m not totally buying into this, however I will admit that it is a little strange. No matter the meaning, I don’t believe it is the right time to start criticizing the fan base.
I really want to know what you think. Respond with your thoughts below. Could the timing of the this quote be worse? Is he claiming UK fans that don’t come to football games or support Joker are racist? Is he just spouting out due to frustration?
